Zane has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1995, a National Certified Counselor since 1996, and a Diplomate of the American Psychotherapy Association since 1999.  He holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and English from the University of Mobile, graduating cum laude, and as a member of Psi Chi, Psychology Honour Society, and Sigma Tau Delta, English Honour Society.  He also earned his Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Alabama A & M University.  He has been providing direct care to teens and/or adults, including geriatrics, and the severely mentally ill population, since 1989.  He has provided mental health services in long-term and short-term residential settings, as well as outpatient, partial hospitalisation, and/or inpatient settings.  These settings have also included the outdoors, hospitals, nursing homes, community mental health centers, and military installations.

Zane Slocumb grew up in Florida and Alabama, enjoying the weather, the water, and the great outdoors.  He is married and has two children and is a Deacon in his home church.  In what little free time he has, Zane enjoys coaching and refereeing his son and other teens in soccer as a Certified Advanced Coach & Certified Intermediate Referee for the American Youth Soccer Organization.
