Bonnie Matlock, MS

Bonnie Matlock is an Alabama Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in Marriage Counseling and Stress Management. She helps individuals, couples and families through changes, crisis or trauma.

Ms Matlock earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychology at Virginia Tech and her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, Los Angeles. She has held licenses as an LPC and Marriage and Family Therapist in California and Virginia. She has been a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy since 1987.

She began her career as a clinical staff member at the Antelope Valley Hospital & Medical Center in Los Angeles County, CA, focusing on crisis intervention.  Ms Matlock opened her first private practice in 1984.  Her ties to the military community led to her selection for an Internal Partnership with the Family Resource Center at Edwards AFB, providing therapy to enlisted and civilian families.

Over the years, she has broadened her skills in several areas through training, partnerships and post graduate education. She has supervised peer counselors for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, led support groups for Hospice Nurses through the Visiting Nurse Association and helped patients with closed head injuries, chronic pain and post traumatic stress through her work with a Neurology Practice in Northern Virginia.

In the Huntsville area, Ms Matlock has worked as counselor and career coach on a grant program for at risk youth overseen by the Mental Health Center of Madison County and in affiliation with the Alabama Career Centers in Marshall, Madison, Limestone and Morgan Counties.
