Mr. Creel looks forward to helping you and your family with important
life issues that impact your emotional, behavioral, relational and spiritual
well being.
Mr. Creel is an experienced provider
of behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and college students.
He specializes in providing comprehensive assessment and intervention
services for young people who are experiencing problems with behavior, emotions
and academic achievement. After
completion of a thorough clinical assessment, Mr. Creel works collaboratively
with parents, teachers, and other physicians to insure that the needs of each
young person are met in a comprehensive manner.
Interventions may include individual and family counseling, consultation
with other medical providers, and consultation visits (with parents) to a child
or adolescent’s school. The
desired outcome always is to help parents to help their children (or to help the
college age adult) to be successful with behavior, emotions, academics and
social relationships.
Mr. Creel also has extensive training and experience in providing
behavioral health services to adults. He
provides counseling and psychotherapy services for individuals experiencing a
variety of problems associated with anxiety, depression, life adjustment and
obsessive thoughts and behaviors. Additionally,
Mr. Creel works extensively in the area of relationship counseling.
This includes counseling for pre-marital, marital, and extended family
issues.
With young people or adults, Mr. Creel often uses innovative approaches to
help the individual achieve the best possible outcome.
He is an experienced provider of biofeedback technology services.
He often uses biofeedback training (computer monitoring, feedback and
learned modification of physiological states such as breathing rate, heart rate,
muscle tension, skin temperature and EEG brain wave activity) to supplement the
treatment of anxiety, depression and attention based disorders such as ADHD.
This approach, used in close collaboration with medical providers, can
often reduce or eliminate the need for medication in the treatment of these
conditions.
With the informed consent of individuals in his care, Mr. Creel
facilitates Christ centered, faith based encounters with God’s Holy Spirit and
Word (scriptural). This approach
allows self-selected individuals to integrate their Christian world view and
values with problem solutions that are consistent with their faith.
